One of the South’s oldest and most beautiful estates, Houmas House and Gardens is the home of Latil’s Landing Restaurant, The Carriage House Restaurant, and Dixie Café, each providing guests with a culinary experience of a lifetime all on its own. Their Chef, Jeremy Langlois, masterfully creates wonderful dishes using the freshest local ingredients that Louisiana has to offer giving his guests an unforgettable experience in one of Louisiana’s most beautiful settings. Just minutes from Baton Rouge and New Orleans, these restaurants have varying menus reflecting traditional Louisiana cuisine. Each menu is updated seasonally to reflect the availability of locally grown produce, providing a true farm-to-table experience.
Locally Made Treasures
Blue Runner Foods began making delicious food back in 1918 when the Union Canning Company began canning fresh fruits and a variety of other items. In 1946 the company moved to its current location in Gonzales, Louisiana, where all of their products are still produced today. Using a time-honored, slow-cooked recipe, Blue Runner Beans simmered their way into an iconic meal occasion. This delicious Creole Cream Style recipe would become the foundation for the future of Blue Runner Foods.
